Course Delivery Types

  Assessment
This is a web-based assessment designed to test the student's comprehension of the course material. After a student enrolls for this type of course, an "Enter the Module" link will be listed on their Transcript page allowing them to access the assessment. When the assessment is completed, the score and completion will automatically be updated in the Avaya Learning Centre.

  CD-ROM or Video
This course type represents a CD-ROM or Video that is sent from a fulfillment center. Students who enroll themselves into the course will view an order form where they can fill out the shipping information and submit it for fulfillment. If a student is enrolled by a Training Coordinator, the item will be shipped to the address that is on their Personal Information page in the Avaya Learning Centre. When a student has completed the materials, they can click the "Mark Activity Completion" on the Transcript page.

  Instructor Led Course
This course type represents a traditional instructor-led course which is facilitated by an Instructor and delivered in a classroom. You will enroll into an instructor-led "session," which is the specific instance of the course. If there is no space left in the session, you may be given the option to join the waitlist.

After you attend the course, the instructor will mark your enrollment complete.

  Online Course
This is a web-based course accessible from the Avaya Learning Centre. Some of these courses have automatic tracking capability within the Learning Management System (LMS), that is the LMS recognizes completion of the course and automatically updated the student's transcript. Course that allow for this automatic tracking capability are developed to a set of standards known as AICC / SCORM. A majority of the courses on the Avaya Learning Centre are of this type.

There are some online courses that are not AICC / SCORM compliant. These courses have no automatic tracking capability within the Avaya Learning Centre. Students launch to the course content from a provided link, but no status is automatically updated in the Avaya Learning Centre. After the student enrolls, the course can be accessed from the "Enter the Course" link on their Transcript page. After the student has completed the course, they must return to the Transcript page and manually update the completion status by clicking "Mark Activity Completion."

  Self-paced or Paper-based
This course type represents paper-based materials that are sent to the student by a fulfillment center. A student who is enrolling themselves into the course will view an order form where they can fill out the shipping information and submit it for fulfillment. If a student is enrolled by a Training Coordinator, the item will be shipped to the address that is on their Personal Information page in the Avaya Learning Centre. When a student has completed the materials, they can click the "Mark Activity Completion" on the Transcript page.

  Virtual Instructor-led Course (Interwise)
This course type is a virtual instructor led course delivered through Interwise. Interwise is a secure e-learning collaboration tool for delivery. Using this tool, a moderator or instructor will be able to generate a virtual classroom that allows for up to 30 participants to interact regardless of their geographic location. Interwise allows for the moderator to use numerous teaching tools to convey the course information to the students. A few of these tools are instructional slides, voice over IP, interactive polls and questions, document and application sharing, and breakout sessions. These tools promote a highly interactive environment for teaching students in a virtual instructor led platform.
